Exclaimer research finds over four in 10 consumers question whether messages are genuine

xclaimer, a global leader in email signature management, has

E released new research revealing that UK and US adults are increasingly turning to AI to help them communicate on a daily basis, but the technology’ s ability to create polished, professional content at scale is also making them more sceptical of the messages arriving in their inboxes and apps.

The survey of 2,000 UK and US adults found that while over half( 58 %) now use AI in their daily communications, 41 % have questioned whether a message they received was genuine or legitimate.
The complexity of digital communication is being compounded by the sheer number of platforms people use. The average UK and US adult now juggles at least six communication channels each day, as messaging apps, workplace platforms, social media and email compete for attention.
More than one in five( 22 %) have missed important information because it was sent on a platform they rarely check, while the same proportion have struggled to find an important message because it was sent on what they considered the‘ wrong’ platform for that type of information. A further 18 % have lost an important message because a communication platform deleted it, an account was closed or they changed devices
“ Businesses often focus on how quickly and widely they can get a message out. What this research suggests is that, for the things that genuinely matter, consumers care far more about whether they can trust it and feel confident about who sent it,” said Jenny Herbison, SVP of Global Marketing at Exclaimer.

Fortinet surpasses one million people trained in cybersecurity

ortinet has announced that it has trained more

F than one million people in cybersecurity, achieving a target it set in 2022 ahead of schedule.

The research highlighted ongoing workforce challenges, despite cybersecurity becoming a growing board-level priority. Fortinet reported that 73 % of organisations now consider cybersecurity a high business priority, yet many continue to struggle with hiring and retaining skilled professionals.
The milestone was reached through the company’ s training and
Melonia Da Gama, certification initiatives, including its
Director of Training and Learning
NSE Certification programme and
Programs, Fortinet the Fortinet Training Institute, which provide cybersecurity education for learners ranging from beginners to experienced professionals.
According to Fortinet, the achievement reflects increasing demand for practical cybersecurity skills as organisations continue to face talent shortages and a rapidly evolving threat landscape shaped by AI, cloud adoption and hybrid working environments.
“ Today, we are marking a major milestone in that effort: Fortinet has fulfilled its pledge made in 2022 and trained more than one million people in cybersecurity over five years,” said Melonia Da Gama, Director of Training and Learning Programs, Fortinet.
Fortinet said it will continue expanding training, upskilling and reskilling programmes to help address the global cybersecurity skills gap and prepare professionals for emerging cyberthreats.
The company’ s 2026 Global Cybersecurity Skills Gap Report found that 91 % of IT decision-makers prefer candidates with technologyfocused certifications, while 92 % would pay for employees to gain certifications. The report also found that 92 % of respondents plan to invest in AI-related cybersecurity training or certifications over the next 12 months.
