Tim Sadler, CEO and co-founder at
Tessian, said: “Email is still one of the
biggest security concerns for many
organisations and will be for a long time
to come.
“All businesses use email and no
one is exempt from human error or
potential internal misconduct. In fact,
a misdirected email could lead to
significant data loss, a serious breach,
damage to the business’ reputation and
financial penalties.
“Rightmove has actively taken steps
to prevent this from happening. We’re
confident our platform will provide
Rightmove with a more complete level
of protection as part of its overall
security strategy.”

An end-user perspective
We spoke to Ankit Satsangi, Head of
Cybersecurity (CISO) at UAE-based
Azizi Developments, about some of
the key challenges faced by CISOs
operating within the Real Estate sector
and how the Middle East as a region is
coping with these threats.
Are there any unique
cybersecurity challenges to
the real estate sector?
One of the key threats from my
perspective is BEC (Business Email
Compromise). In this attack, the business
owners are convinced to make a wire
transfer to the attackers by pretending to
be legitimate business clients.
The attack follows by impersonating
CXO profiles and including prior email
communication threads in the email asking
for a wire transfer to a new account.
