editor’s note
H
ello and welcome
to the latest
edition of
Intelligent CISO.
This month,
we welcome
Luke Fairless,
Technology Director – Security and
Capability at Tesco, to the cover.
He tells us how the company is using
an identity and access management
solution from OneLogin to secure its
distributed workforce.
Fairless explains that the solution has
provided assurance to the security team
as well as ensuring exceptional user
experience while not overburdening
individual employees. You can read
more about the implementation on pages
51–53.
Meanwhile, the focus is on diversity in
our ‘Editor’s Question’ after the Chartered
Institute of Information Security (CIISec)
warned that the IT security industry is still
failing to attract workers beyond a highly
limited demographic.
Industry experts from all corners of the
EMEA region give their views on why
a diverse workforce is so important in
cybersecurity – with advice on how
organisations should approach this
critical issue.
Every industry is at risk from
cyberthreats, not least the aviation sector
where there are numerous digitalisation
initiatives under way. While beneficial to
consumers, these also introduce new
challenges for CISOs. In our ‘Industry
Unlocked’ feature we hear from experts
from Thycotic and Attivo Networks about
some of the key threats to the aviation
industry, how organisations are rising to
the challenge and how CISOs can bolster
their defences.
To round off the magazine we ‘Go Phish’
with Mustafa Gangardiwala, Head of
Information Security Unit, Industrial Bank
of Kuwait, who tells us about life inside
and outside the office.
As always, we also have a round-up of
all the latest news in the cybersecurity
sector, while our ‘intelligent’ brands
section looks at what’s new in mobile,
software, cloud, network, data and
physical security.
I hope you enjoy the magazine and if
you’d like to contribute to any future
issues please do not hesitate to contact
me by emailing jess@lynchpinmedia.
