Issue 22
H
ello and
welcome to the
latest edition of
Intelligent CISO –
my first as Editor.
I have now taken
over from my
former colleague, Jess Phillips, and have
undoubtedly had big boots to fill!
Once again, we delve into the latest tech
trends and get our first glimpse into how
this new year is shaping up, with some
saying that 2020 is the time to shine
for Artificial Intelligence, while business
leaders are discovering smarter ways to
tackle cyberthreats.
On the cover this month is Giandomenico
Oldano, Director of IT Operations for RCS
MediaGroup. In the case study, we take
a look at how workforce productivity is
a key contributor to excelling in today’s
modern world as enterprises relentlessly
search for efficient approaches to reduce
downtime and loss of productivity.
Making sure the system is protected
against cyberattacks was an essential
focus for the group and ultimately, a
critical requirement for guaranteeing
secure access for its employees.
In this issue’s ‘Cybertrends’ feature,
we consider an insightful report that
explores some of the cyber-risks
associated with new technology to
become mainstream in 2020.
Infosecurity Europe’s CISO
community highlight the trends they
expect to take hold this new year and
the areas of technology we should be
prioritising as hackers become smarter
in their approach.
In our ‘Editor’s Question’, cybersecurity
experts respond to what best practice
approach businesses should take
to password security. We hear what
Riaan Badenhorst, General Manager of
Kaspersky in Africa; Rajesh Ganesan,
Vice President at ManageEngine; and
Chris Kubic, Chief Information Security
Officer (CISO), Fidelis Cybersecurity,
have to say on the matter.
To round off this issue, we ‘Go Phish’
with Vanessa Pegueros, Chief Trust
and Security Officer – OneLogin, to
hear how she likes to relax and unwind
outside the office.
I hope you enjoy the read and if
you’d like to contribute any future
content, including any case studies,
please don’t hesitate to email me at
