EUROPE
The British Dental Association (BDA) said it had been
targeted by a ‘sophisticated’ cyberattack.
In a statement, the BDA said it had been working hard
alongside a number of third-party experts including
forensic IT specialists, to determine the nature of the
criminal activity.
It was working to conclude investigations as soon as
possible but said it did not know what information may
have been compromised, although the evidence available
suggested that the data extracted related to a very small
snapshot of the total data stored on its servers.
AFRICA
Experian South Africa said it is investigating an
incident involving a fraudulent data inquiry.
Investigations indicated that an individual purporting
to represent a legitimate client, fraudulently
requested services from Experian. The services
involved the release of information which is provided
in the ordinary course of business or which is
publicly available.
Experian said its South African bureau
infrastructure, systems and database had not been
compromised and there was no breach of Experian
South Africa’s systems, and no consumer credit or
consumer financial information was obtained.
