WHAT ARE
THE LATEST
CYBERTHREATS
CISOS NEED TO BE
AWARE OF?

COVID-19 crisis,
cybersecurity
has never been
more important.
Unscrupulous
cybercriminals
have taken advantage of the pandemic
and attempted to use the confusion it
has created to get their hands on illgotten
gains.
Not unsurprisingly, Coronavirus has
led to an enormous increase in online
activity – particularly as businesses
have been forced to adopt a work from
home model.
While most of us might view this as a
positive, it does of course bring its own
risks with the potential of becoming a
victim of crime and suffering from the
upheaval and disruption that comes
with it.
That is why we’ve invited experts from
Radware, Rubrik and Barracuda to
discuss the most important cyberthreats
that CISOs should be aware of.
Of course, everybody has their own
views on this issue and while there
has undoubtedly been an increase in
attacks on those working remotely,
some of the old threats still exist behind
the scenes, retaining the ability to
attack the unsuspecting masses who
could easily fall victim.

Jamie Humphrey, Managing Director
A/NZ at cloud data management
company, Rubrik, discusses the issue
of ransomware in detail, explaining
how some victims are tempted to pay
the ransom.
James Forbes-May, VP of APAC for
Barracuda Networks, reminds us of the
major email threats to take note of.
But as he points out, email threats are
becoming ever-more sophisticated and
with every increase in sophistication
comes an increase in difficulty in
adequately responding to these dangers.
editor’s question
He draws attention to the fact that
employees need to be able to
distinguish between a legitimate email
and an email threat. It’s certainly worth
reading as the familiarity of an ‘old
friend’ like email can result in us all
becoming complacent and, as a result,
entering the danger zone.
