Uber , one of the world ’ s leading automotive companies , has announced it has suffered a data breach . An Uber EXT contractor had their account compromised by an attacker and it ’ s likely that the attacker purchased the contractor ’ s Uber corporate password on the Dark Web , after the contractor ’ s personal device had been infected with malware , exposing those credentials . The company released a statement detailing the attack and said it believes that the attacker ( or attackers ) are affiliated with hacking group , Lapsus $. The investigation is still ongoing .
