Oman Arab Bank
receives award
for cybersecurity
practices
man Arab Bank (OAB) has
been presented with an award
recognising its outstanding
cybersecurity practices. A ceremony,
organised by the bank, saw Trend Micro
representatives handing out the award
and certificates at the OAB Head Office.
Ghulam Basheer, Head of the IT Security
Department at OAB, said: “Being a
financial institution, security has always
been our top priority. Businesses are
subjected to all kinds of security threats
and vandalism. Therefore, information
which is considered to be the ‘life
blood’ of businesses requires extensive
protection. Our partner, Trend Micro, is

UK CITIES BEST PLACED TO
ATTRACT CYBERTALENT

released the 2018 Cyber
Security City Ranking, revealing
the best cities for cybersecurity
professionals, with Reading, Leeds
and Cardiff topping the table.

Analysing four factors, including
salary, affordability, job availability
and tech sector growth potential,
the ranking sought to uncover which
cities may be most attractive to those
already working in or considering
cybersecurity as a career path.
Reading in Berkshire, home to a
wide variety of major international
tech companies, topped the ranking,
performing particularly well for job
availability and salary.
Leeds closely followed, gaining big
points for the potential growth of its
tech sector, while Cardiff ranked in
third place, scoring top points for
affordability. Other findings from the top
10 included:
