KnowBe4 launches phishing security resource kit to help combat social engineering

Phishing is a social engineering scheme in which bad actors attempt to acquire sensitive information from users such as login credentials and credit card information or trick them into clicking on an infected link or attachment that can download malware by disguising the email as being from a trustworthy entity . Over 90 % of successful data breaches and hacks start with phishing scams – it is the most common form of social engineering and a threat to every end-user and organisation around the world .

2022 , against a 2 % year-onyear rise in cyberattacks globally , the latest figures from cybersecurity leader , SonicWall , reveal in its Cyber Threat Report . Still , the number of attacks in 2022 in the UAE ( 71 million ) was more than the combined total in 2019 and 2020 ( 37.3 million and 19 million , respectively ).
