Mimecast receives
award for continuity
and resilience product

at the 2018 BCI Global Awards.

Mimecast received recognition for
providing an outstanding service and
product, relevant to the continuity and
resilience profession. This award follows
Mimecast being recognised at the
BCI Africa Awards 2018 for Mimecast
Mailbox Continuity.
In the event of a sudden or planned
email outage, Mimecast Mailbox
Continuity is designed to provide
uninterrupted access to live and
historic email and attachments from the
Mimecast cloud using everyday tools
like Microsoft Outlook for Windows web
and mobile applications. Employees get
access to email – from anywhere, on
any device. Administrators can monitor
email flow, receive alerts and manage a
continuity event quickly and easily from
just about anywhere.
In 2017, Mimecast supported thousands
of customers globally to protect against
more than 2,900 days with email
disruption, saving an estimated
US$9 million in economic activity based
on a typical 25% productivity loss.
Mimecast is certified to ISO22301 for
business continuity preparedness.

EU CYBERSECURITY ORGANISATIONS
AGREE ON 2019 ROADMAP

have agreed on a roadmap
for 2019.

On November 6, following a
meeting at working level, the four
principals of the Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) between
Europol, the European Union
Agency for Network and Information
Security (ENISA), the European
Defence Agency (EDA) and the
Computer Emergency Response
Team for the EU Institutions,
Agencies and Bodies (CERT-EU),
met at CERT-EU’s premises.
The purpose of the meeting was
to update each other on relevant
developments and assess the
progress made under the MoU,
which provides a cooperation
framework aiming at leveraging
synergies between the four organisations
to achieve a safe and open cyberspace.
The four partners also agreed on a
roadmap prepared by the MoU working
group with concrete activities and
deliverables throughout 2019.
The initial focus will be on working
closer in the areas of training and
cyberexercises, building the cooperation
capacity and the improved exchange of
information on respective projects and
events with a view to complementing the
work of the four partners and avoiding
the duplication of efforts.
The principals agreed that this was a
major milestone in entering a new era
of working together and an important
first step in putting the cooperation
framework into practice.
