W issue of Intelligent CISO! As I sit down to write this, I’ m struck, as I often am, by the sheer pace and complexity of the world you, as CISOs, operate in. It’ s truly a unique position – balancing the relentless march of technological innovation with an equally relentless and ever-evolving, threat landscape. It’ s a job that demands foresight, resilience and a dash of genuine grit.
We know your plate is fuller than ever. From the dizzying potential( and lurking dangers) of AI and Generative AI, to the intricate web of supply chain vulnerabilities and the constantly shifting sands of global data privacy regulations – it’ s a lot. And let’ s not even start on the persistent challenge of finding and keeping the right talent, or making sure your vital work is truly understood at the board level.
But amidst these formidable challenges, there’ s also incredible opportunity. We’ re seeing how AI can become your most potent ally in defence, how a focus on true cyber resilience can transform a breach from a disaster into a recoverable event and how your strategic input is more critical than ever to the very survival and success of your organisations. You’ re not just gatekeepers; you’ re enablers of secure innovation.
In this issue, we’ ve aimed to bring you insights that speak directly to these realities. We’ ve delved into the challenges presented by biometric security and privacy concerns in this month’ s Cyber Trends feature. We also asked three cyber insurance experts about their thoughts on parametric coverage and if it really does deliver organisations the ability to recover faster from an attack. And we were delighted to speak with Simon Stiebel, Technology and Security Operations Director at NatWest Cushon, who is of course, featured on this month’ s cover.
Our goal, as always, is to provide you with the knowledge, tools and perhaps a fresh perspective to navigate this complex cyber frontier.
Thank you for being at the forefront. We hope you find this issue informative, challenging and perhaps, a little reassuring that you’ re not alone in this vital mission.
