The reliability and scalability in the Pure Storage platform enabled Access to standardise its data environment, comprising 30,000 virtual machines( VMs) and 100,000 databases without interrupting its diverse application landscape.
More significantly, the partnership with Pure Storage enables Access to focus on building an Enterprise Data Cloud that scales effortlessly and supports the company’ s business growth into new areas such as AI.

Access provides solutions that empower more than 160,000 small and mid-sized organisations across Europe, USA and APAC. multiple Access products transform how business technology is used. Access has grown by merger and acquisition and every new company it brings in has its own IT systems. This led to a highly complex IT environment with equipment and software from multiple vendors.
Customer data is the most critical asset for Access whose systems support millions of users around the world such as tax payments in Australia and the UK, payroll for the National Health Service( NHS) in the UK and electronic payments in the US.
Three years ago, the company embarked on a programme to consolidate and standardise its IT infrastructure including a redesign of its global data centre architecture.
The company made the decision to work with Pure Storage as its global tier one storage provider not only for the performance and reliability of its infrastructure solutions but also because Pure Storage demonstrated the ability to meet Access’ existing and future requirements.
Access’ decision to standardise on the Pure Storage platform has yielded numerous benefits that have translated to business outcomes. The most important of which is its ability to have full control over critical data assets including navigating data sovereignty across the geographies that it operates in.
Altay Ayyuce, Area Vice President, Australia and New Zealand, Pure Storage, said:“ We started working with Pure Storage three years ago as it was the only storage vendor that was able to show us a roadmap closely aligned to our business needs. The Access Group is made up of over 20 different companies so we must ensure that all those systems continue to run while we architect and modernise our IT infrastructure for the future. Pure Storage’ s vision of the enterprise data cloud is exactly what we are building so we’ re glad we made the decision to partner with them all those years ago.”
